Which heart rate monitors work with OnBeat? (website summary)
OnBeat does not require a proprietary monitor. Athletes can bring their own, or you can loan or sell monitors at your facility. Contact us about discounted monitors you can buy in bulk. OnBeat works with Polar, Wahoo, Garmin and many other Bluetooth monitors.
Bluetooth and ANT+
Monitors send Bluetooth, ANT+ or both. Some brands only send Bluetooth (for example Polar) and some only ANT+ (for example Garmin). iPads and iPhones only have Bluetooth, so ANT+ monitors need our WiFi Bridge (antenna), which sends the heart rate data to the iPad or iPhone over Wi-Fi. Email support@onbeat.fit to buy the ANT+ antenna. Over 75 ANT+ monitors are listed as compatible, and all ANT+ monitors work, so ask us if yours is not listed.
Garmin
Most Garmin smartwatches (Fenix, Vivosmart, Vivoactive) broadcast ANT+, so they work with the antenna (sold separately). To enable broadcasting on the watch, go to Settings > Sensors or Heart Rate > Broadcasting > OK.
Fitbit and Apple Watch
OnBeat does not currently work with Fitbit or Apple Watch. Fitbit does not let third-party apps receive real-time heart rate data, and the Apple Watch can only connect to a person's own phone.
